My programs are not always quick fixes, but they are comprehensive, natural treatment plans that are individually designed to meet your specific health needs.
After our initial consultation and a detailed health intake, I design a step by step treatment protocol that includes our treatment goals, recommended number of treatments, Herbal Supplements or Neutraceutical recommendations and Dietary and Lifestyle modifications.
I will give you all the information and all the tools you will need to restore your health, maximize your chances of conception, regulate hormones to treat underlying gynecological complaints, support pregnancy naturally, prepare you for labor, heal injury and eliminate pain. You can finally feel confident that someone knows and understands your entire story and is taking care of all the details.
You will see faster and more dramatic results when you truly engage in your treatment and follow the recommended guidelines. Couples who make changes together will further improve their chances of conception as well as enhance the health of their baby. No matter what the plan, I will be there with you step by step. There are natural ways to heal you body and I want to show them to you.
Over the last 15 years I have dedicated myself to learning the art of natural healing.
Anyone who knows me can see that I am so very passionate about Women’s Health, in particular Fertility, Pregnancy, Periods and Pain. But how did I get here? Why acupuncture and how did I come to specialize in Fertility, Pregnancy and Women’s Health?
My journey with women’s health begin in high school.
I suffered with severe menstrual cramps which was later diagnosed as endometriosis. The cramps were so bad that I was prescribed narcotic pain medication as a teenager. The pain was intense and getting worse. Eventually, like most women with cramps, I was put on birth control pills to regulate my cycle, prevent cysts and control pain.
The pill helped, until I went to college and my stress levels shot through the roof. The stress, the lack of sleep, and endless junk-food (late night, greasy pizza bites at the BU cafeteria) made everything worse and led to what became chronic sinus infections.
The sinus infection became so painful that I began taking over-the-counter sinus medication everyday! I was on round after round of antibiotics but nothing helped. The Ear, Nose & Throat specialist said it was “all in my head”.
Needless to say, my health was a disaster and after three semesters at Boston University, I took a leave of absence. I knew I needed to do something radical so I signed up for an 80 day Outward Bound course. It completely changed my life.
What I learned:
We are responsible for creating our on lives…including our health.
I realized none of the doctors I had seen had helped me at all. I was going to have to take responsibility for healing myself.
I started to read and read and read and read….
I moved to Arcata, California to live in the Redwoods and finish my business degree. It was there that I was introduced to natural health. I completely changed my life including everything from my outlook on life to diet and exercise. It was amazing and wonderful but the journey was no where near over. Living in Northern California introduced me to many aspects of natural health, but it was not until moving back to Maine where I grew up, that I was introduced in Acupuncture. I was working in finance and I absolutely hating it. My hormones were still out of balance and I was determined to cure the problem, not just manage they symptoms.
So, I went off the pill. It was awful. The menstrual pain came back full force.
I carried Advil with me where ever I went, just in case the pain struck. If I didn’t take pain medication within five minutes of feeling the first twinge of pain, I would be laying on the floor in agony within the half hour, no matter where I was.
It was time to learn more and acupuncture seemed like the perfect fit! I enrolled and absolutely immersed myself in the study of Chinese Medicine. To this day, my passion for natural health and my thirst for information has never wavered. My bedroom nightstand is still piled high with books about women’s health, acupuncture, pregnancy and fertility. It is my passion, my life’s work and I love it.
Not only do I have a career that I cherish but I’m also happier and healthier than ever before. I haven’t had a sinus infection in nearly 10 years and my hormones are well balanced and stable. I feel healthier now than I have my whole life.
I learned how to heal myself and now it is my mission to help you heal and live your life to the fullest. Now, I am dedicated to empowering, educating and restoring health to women and their families. My vision is to create simple, individualized health plans that help women enhance conception, support pregnancies, revitalize energy & eliminate pain. In other words, I want to positively effect the lives of my patients in really important ways!
Continual learning is a top priority for me both professionally and personally. My nightstand is overflowing with the latest writings on fertility, women's health and pain treatment. Below are post-graduate courses I have taken:
