Pregnancy is the time to begin preparing for breastfeeding!

Taking a breastfeeding class in the second half of your pregnancy will make the first few weeks postpartum smoother and easier for both you and baby.

Join us for a prenatal breastfeeding class on Wednesday, February 7 from 6:30-8:30 at Angela Bell Acupuncture.

Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Email or call (617) 714-5333 to register.  Tuition is $85. Check with your health insurance to see if they reimburse for breastfeeding classes.

You will learn about:

  • Demand and supply: how you make milk and how to protect your supply
  • Newborn behavior: how to know when your baby is hungry, satisfied, and getting enough to eat, as well as newborn behavior at the breast
  • Latch and positioning: what an effective latch looks and feels like, and the position that allows your baby to self-attach
  • Lactation consultant tips and tricks: ways to make it easier as you learn to breastfeed
  • The early days: what life with a new baby really looks like including infant sleep, feeding frequency, and how breastfeeding changes over the early weeks
  • Milk removal and storage: pumping, hand express, and how to store your precious milk

Class size is limited to 3 families to ensure personal attention and time to answer your questions. Partners are encouraged to attend.

Your instructor is Julie Brill, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Certified Childbirth Educator who has been working with perinatal families for 25 years.
