I’m thrilled to join you today with an exciting announcement!
Ellen and I have searched far and wide for an experienced massage therapist who could meet the needs of both Inner Bridges Physical Therapy and Wellness (my wife Ellen’s Physical Therapy practice with whom we share the office with) patients as well as my own acupuncture patients.
Today I am so very pleased to introduce you to Rebecca Geekie LMT & Reiki Master. She was absolutely worth the wait!
Ellen, Rebecca and I spent hours together developing a unique list of specialty massage offerings. We are so excited to make these available to you today!
I want to draw your particular attention to the Prenatal Massage offering, which I know many of you will be interested in.
Rebecca and I created this highly specialized massage explicitly for expecting mothers. It’s a wonderful full body massage meant to target many of the common physical complaints during pregnancy such as low back pain, hip pain, and swelling all in a comfortable and supportive side-lying position.
For women approaching their due dates (37+ weeks), we designed an add-on option to prepare women for labor. The extended 90 minute massage includes techniques to prepare your body for labor by relaxing and opening up the pelvis, relieving tension in the low back and sacrum as well as incorporating acupressure. As an experienced bodyworker, Rebecca seamlessly incorporates particular acupuncture points to help the baby descend into the birth canal, soften your cervix and remove any stagnation that may be stalling the natural onset of labor. Before you leave, Rebecca will teach you the four most useful acupressure points to prepare your body for birth, all of which you can do at home in the coming days and weeks.
Here’s the two of us discussing the Prenatal Massage and Acupressure Bodywork Ad-on:
Rebecca is certainly not new to the world of massage. Upon graduating from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts/Tufts University with a BFA in studio art, Rebecca Geekie moved to Colorado to pursue her studies in the Boulder College of Massage Therapy’s 1000+ Hour Therapeutic Massage Therapy Program, one of the most comprehensive professional certification programs in the country. She has been practicing bodywork since 2009. She holds multiple massage certifications including pediatric, prenatal, labor support and postpartum, Craniosacral Therapy, hospice and elderly support, as well as being a Reiki Master and intuitive practitioner.
Her style of bodywork is unrushed and tailored to each client. Sessions may include relaxation techniques, focused deep tissue, Craniosacral Therapy, acupressure points and Reiki.
